NID will appoint new Director to serve Division 4

Applications being accepted until Oct. 25

(Grass Valley- Oct. 1, 2024) The Nevada Irrigation District (NID) has announced the Division 4 Director seat on its Board of Directors is vacant, and applications are being accepted now. The seat will be filled by appointment.
Those interested in serving as the Division 4 Director, which includes portions of North Auburn and the Lincoln areas, are invited to apply before October 25, 2024.

To qualify for the position, candidates must either be a landowner or resident and registered to vote within the NID’s Division 4 (a detailed division map is available at https://www.nidwater.com/nid- division-map or contact NID).

In their application, candidates must submit a statement of interest, which should describe not only their interest in serving on the NID Board, but also specific skills, experience, or areas of expertise they would bring to the irrigation district.

The sitting NID Board is scheduled to make the appointment during a special meeting on November 6, 2024. The new appointee will hold office through the first Friday in December 2026.

The Division 4 seat became available after Director Trevor Caulder resigned on Sept. 26, 2024.

NID is governed by a five-member Board of Directors, elected to four-year terms by the District's voters. The Board is the District’s policy-making body, and that policy is carried out by more than 200 full- and part-time employees.

Members of the Board are elected from within and represent five geographical divisions within the District. Directors are compensated per guidelines set in the California Water Code (Section 21165).
