Hughes Road Transmission Replacement and Litton Road Extension
The Hughes Road Transmission Replacement and Litton Road Extension project involves two separate portions. The first portion includes the replacement of 1,240 feet of existing 20-inch diameter steel pipe within Hughes Road. The pipe is over 55 years old, has had numerous leaks, and is at the end of its useful life. The pipe is a transmission main critical for providing downstream flows to the system. A portion of the water system connected to a six-inch water line will be eliminated by connecting existing services to the new 20-inch main. The second portion of the project is to extend and connect two ends of the District’s water system, a 600-foot long, 10-inch diameter pipe connecting the Litton Road pipe segment to the one ending to the southwest on private properties. This second pipe will enhance the District’s water system by creating a loop for flow. The project will provide better operational service for treated water customers.
The project is in the 2024 Capital Improvement Program and is currently in the design phase.
