Harris Road DFWLE
This project is for the installation of approximately 3000 feet of 8-inch diameter treated waterline, three fire hydrants, and all appurtenances, to serve 34 parcels on Harris Lane and Bean Road in Auburn, CA.
The District's Board of Directors approved a construction contract with LaFleur Engineering, Inc. at the May 8, 2024, meeting.
Construction is scheduled to begin July 15, 2024, through October 31, 2024.
Construction Update:
October 24, 2024 - Construction and road restoration are complete.
September 26, 2024 - Construction is complete. Road restoration is in process.
The Right of Way section is in the process of assisting property owners in obtaining the consent of mortgage lenders for the easement rights necessary for the project.

September 6, 2024 - Construction on the mainline, services, and appurtenance are completed. Crews are now filling and flushing the line to prepare for testing. We request that you continue to use caution driving along the project alignment as activities may seem to slow but will increase in pockets. Crews will also be completing site cleanup over the next couple of weeks. Thank you for your patience.
August 16, 2024 – Construction of the main pipeline is completed on Harris Road and Harris Lane. It is expected that the main pipeline construction will be completed on Hidden Oaks Lane today Friday, August 16, 2024. The road will be open to through traffic this weekend (August 17 and 18). We appreciate your patience and acknowledgment of the road closures. The reduction of traffic helped minimize disruption during construction which is helping the schedule stay on track despite the rock encountered underground. Installation of the service lines, fire hydrants, and other necessary appurtenances will start on Harris Road and Hidden Oaks Lane beginning Monday, August 19, 2024. Work will follow the main pipeline route towards Bean Road with traffic restrictions in place. We ask that you continue to enter/exit such that you do not try to drive through the construction site. You will be asked to turn around. Thank you for your continued patience.
August 2, 2024 - Rock was encountered Monday and Tuesday which slowed down the excavation progress. Soil conditions improved later in the week allowing for a total of 1641 linear feet of main pipeline to be installed. The road will be open to through traffic this weekend (August 3 and 4). Construction will resume Monday from 10675 Harris Road to 10600 Harris Road with the traffic restrictions in place. We ask that you continue to enter/exit such that you do not try to drive through the construction site. You will be asked to turn around. Thank you for your continued patience.
July 26, 2024 – Rock was encountered Thursday and Friday which slowed down the excavation progress. By the end of the work shift today (Friday), the road will be open to through traffic. Construction will resume Monday at 2365 Bean Road moving in the direction of 2366 Bean Road with the traffic restrictions in place.
July 24, 2024 - Excavation and installation of the main waterline will start Thursday, July 24, 2024. Work will start at 2395 Bean Road. If underground conditions allow, approximately 500 feet of waterline will be installed per day. The District would appreciate it if non-residential traffic used alternative routes. Signs will be posted for the temporary road closure. Emergency services will have access. Residents will be able to access their homes, however, we request that residents exit towards Mount Vernon Road until the mainline installation is past your access.
