NID Board of Directors meeting wrap: Directors adopt 2020 budget, postpone redistricting process

Nevada Irrigation District (NID) Directors adopted the 2020 budget and postponed the redistricting process, during their Oct. 23 meeting. Present were President Scott Miller, Vice President Ricki Heck, Chris Bierwagen, Laura Peters and Nick Wilcox.

Stressing the importance of developing annual budgets that are sustainable and resilient, Nevada Irrigation District (NID) Board of Directors has approved the District’s $77.9 million budget for 2020. Click here to read the 2020 budget.

Directors also agreed to postpone the redistricting process until the 2020 Census is completed. Click here to read the different proposed redistricting options based on the 2010 US Census.

The General Manager reported District water storage is 195,243 acre-feet, which is 72 percent of maximum capacity and 116 percent of average for the past six years. Precipitation (as measured at Bowman Lake) was at 4.16 inches, which is 114 percent above average for the water year.

The next regular meeting of the NID Board of Directors will be held at 9 a.m. on Nov. 13, 2019 at the NID Business Center located at 1036 West Main Street, Grass Valley. NID Board meetings are open to the public.
