Area kids find fun and chocolate during NID’s 12th Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Orchard Springs

April 22, 2019

The Easter Bunny made his grand entrance to the Orchard Springs Campground in a fire truck with lights and sirens blazing on Saturday, much to the delight of about 150 kids waiting in anticipation of an annual Easter egg hunt, sponsored by the Nevada Irrigation District (NID).

With the Bunny leading the way, kids with baskets and bags raced out in search of goodies around the campground meadow and wooded picnic area. In addition to chocolate and candy treats inside more than 1,000 eggs, kids in each age group also had the chance to find prizes inside special eggs.

This marked the 12th year that NID has hosted the Easter egg hunt, which was held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at Orchard Springs Campground.

The Easter Bunny and transport were provided by the Peardale Chicago Park Fire Protection District.

Thank you to everyone who attended to make this an excellent, fun family event. See you next year!
