Plan For Water: Thanks to the community for a fantastic turn-out to the first public workshop

December 4, 2018

The Nevada Irrigation District (NID) wants to thank our community for a fantastic turnout to the first of two public workshops kicking off the Plan for Water process, which will provide the strategic visioning to inform the District’s future water resources management.

More than 70 people turned out for a Dec. 1 workshop, held at the Nevada County Fairgrounds. Participants broke into small groups to gather ideas and discuss priorities pertaining to long-term planning of the District’s water resources. The results of those sessions will be posted on

Plan for Water is a community collaboration process to support NID’s 50-year Raw Water Master Plan (RWMP). The workshops are a first step to introducing the process and gather input on water priorities from the public.

Want to get involved? The second workshop will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 10 at Rock Creek Elementary School, 3050 Bell Road, in Auburn. Please attend to learn more about the Plan for Water process and participate in an input session where you can contribute to the conversation and help shape our water future.
