Board of Directors Oct. 24 meeting wrap: Directors hear a groundwater plan update and authorize a contract for Scotts Flat Campground work

The Nevada Irrigation District (NID) Board of Directors received an update about the Groundwater Sustainability Plan Development and authorized a contract to C&D Contractors, Inc. of Nevada City for work at Scotts Flat Campground, during its Oct. 24 meeting. Present were President William Morebeck and Directors Nancy Weber, Nick Wilcox and Scott Miller. Vice President John Drew was absent.

Directors heard a presentation as an update on California’s Sustainable Groundwater Management Act activities (SGMA) by the West Placer Groundwater Sustainability Agency, including development of the required Groundwater Sustainability Plan. Read more here.

Also, the Board authorized a contract to C & D Contractors, Inc. of Nevada City in the amount of $164,264.00, for Scotts Flat Campground work that involves the replacement of about 3,500 linear feet of 2-inch PVC water pipeline and about 460 linear feet of 2-inch electrical conduit at the Scott’s Flat Campground Gate #2. The Assistant General Manager reported District water storage is 170,768 acre-feet, which is 63 percent of storage capacity and 104 percent of average for the year.

The next meeting of the NID Board of Directors will be held at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at the District’s Business Center, located at 1036 W. Main St., Grass Valley. NID Board meetings are open to the public.
