Board of Directors June 27 meeting wrap

The Nevada Irrigation District (NID) Board of Directors unanimously agreed to authorize contracts worth millions for the Combie Reservoir Sediment and Mercury Removal Project. They also made a revision to District policy regarding the replacement of service laterals during its June 27 meeting. Present were President William Morebeck, Vice President John H. Drew, and Directors Nancy Weber, Nick Wilcox and Scott Miller.

The Board unanimously agreed to adopt a budget amendment request to increase the grant revenue and capital budget accounts for the Combie Sediment and Mercury Removal Project. In addition, project contracts were approved with the United States Geological Survey (USGS), Great Lakes Environmental & Infrastructure, Holdredge & Kull/NV-5 Corporation and Teichert Aggregates. In other NID matters, the Board unanimously approved revisions to the service lateral charges and procedures (Schedule 4-A) to alter the mandatory practice that all laterals less than 1.5 inches be replaced regardless of the need or age of the existing service line. Read more here.

The General Manager reported District water storage is 257,305 acre-feet, which is 95 percent of average for the year.

The next regular meeting of the NID Board of Directors will be held at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at the NID Business Center located at 1036 West Main Street, Grass Valley. NID Board meetings are open to the public.
