DS Canal Flume Replacement
The DS Canal Flume Replacement Project is the replacement of elevated structures, referred to as flumes, along the DS Canal to strengthen the conveyance system. Seven flumes on the DS Canal between Banner Mountain Trail and Pinewoods Road and one flume on the DS Canal near Apple Orchard Lane are identified for replacement. The replacement of the flumes will provide reliability and longevity; improve safety conditions for workers; and increase capacity, eliminating the current temporary freeze on all new water sales on the DS and lateral canals. The new flumes will be 72² steel pipes and steel support structures. In addition, the culvert at Gracie Road will be replaced as part of this project. Construction access would be from existing roads and canal berms.
The Project is expected to be completed Summer 2013.
